Home Office Not Working How It Should?

I'll come to your home in Falkirk and get your workspace set up properly. Monitors, docking stations, video calls, printers, and everything in between.

£50/hr · No call-out fee · See full pricing

What I can help with

  • Monitor and docking station setup

Multiple screens, docking stations, display adapters, and resolution settings. I'll get everything connected and configured so it actually works the way you need it to.

  • Zoom, Teams, and video call setup

Camera not working, microphone cutting out, or background not showing right? I'll get your video calling software set up properly and test it so you're not scrambling five minutes before a meeting.

  • Printer and scanner setup

Getting a printer to work reliably from a work laptop, especially over WiFi, is more complicated than it should be. I'll set it up properly and make sure it stays connected.

  • VPN and remote access

Need to connect to a work network from home? I'll help you set up and configure your company VPN, or troubleshoot connection issues if it's stopped working.

  • Cloud storage and file sharing

OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox. I'll make sure your files are properly syncing, backed up, and accessible from all your devices without confusion.

  • WiFi for your home office

A weak or unreliable WiFi signal in your workspace causes constant frustration. I'll assess your signal strength and find the best solution, whether that's repositioning your router, a wired connection, or a WiFi extender.

More people than ever are working from home, but the tech side of a home office is often a jumble of things that sort-of work until they don’t. A monitor that keeps losing signal, a docking station that only works if you plug things in the right order, a printer the laptop can’t find, video calls where nobody can hear you properly.

I visit homes across Falkirk and Central Scotland to get home office setups working properly. Not just technically functional, but set up in a way that’s reliable day to day.

What a home office visit covers

Every setup is different, but a typical visit involves:

  • Connecting and configuring monitors, docking stations, and display adapters
  • Checking screen resolution, scaling, and display arrangement settings
  • Setting up or troubleshooting Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Google Meet, including camera, microphone, and speaker selection
  • Printer and scanner setup over WiFi or USB
  • Checking WiFi signal strength in the workspace and recommending improvements if needed
  • OneDrive, Google Drive, or Dropbox sync configuration
  • VPN setup or troubleshooting if you need to connect to a work network

If there’s something else causing problems with your work setup, I’ll take a look at that too.

Working from home shouldn’t mean wrestling with tech

The hours lost to tech that doesn’t quite work properly add up quickly. A monitor that needs reconnecting every morning, a microphone that only sometimes works, a printer that needs reinstalling after every update. These things are fixable, and fixing them properly at the start saves a lot of frustration later.

I cover home office setup across Falkirk and the surrounding area, including Grangemouth, Larbert, Stirling, Bo’ness, and Linlithgow. Call 07944 156 453 or message on WhatsApp to describe what you need. No fix, no fee, 7 days a week.

Common questions

I can help with setup and peripheral configuration on most work laptops. Some employer-managed devices have restrictions on what can be installed. I'll let you know if that's the case before spending time on something that won't work.

No. My help is with the tech side only. I'll get your monitors, laptop, keyboard, mouse, and other devices set up and working correctly.

Yes. I'm comfortable with both Windows and macOS, including MacBooks with docking stations, external displays, and Apple peripherals.

I charge £50 per hour. A straightforward home office setup typically takes one to two hours. If I can't get something working, you don't pay.
